Bourbon Street

Jimmy restocks cooler when he realizes we are not stopping on Bourbon Street, just driving through! New Orleans is interesting and deserves a return trip soon! But there is no parking in the city on a weekday - so we press on!

Mighty Mississippi

Drove along the River Road into New Orleans. Saw lots of plantations including Oak Alley and the SanFrancisco Plantation.

Jimmy looked for fish in the Mississippi but found them in the drainage ditch beside the road!

Crossing Texas

Amother memorable sign! And look, what's that? Amongst the field after field of something, a bridge that takes us into Louisianna

Albuquerque next

Quick Visit with Anne and Mike - miss you guys!

More Pagosa Springs Resort

Kent has become quite th shutterbug!

Beautiful setting - highly recommend the place.

Me, Kent and Suzie with the MINI

Road trip headed towards Pagosa Springs

Jimmy getting a little silly after we got under way

This guy, pulled over where we were, on the side of the road, to take pictures of the vista. Well, this guy turned out to be Frank N., a guy I have known since college days! He is still in Knoxville, and was just sightseeing in the west! Small world!

Artsy pictures while waiting on the service truck.

Formation called Jacob's Chair.

We all decided to go to Pagosa Springs so packed up and headed out. Along the way, Kent had a little car trouble, so we spent a few hours enjoying the vistas, the flowers and other sights while waiting on a service call. We are at mile marker 106 on some small road outside of Blanding, Utah.

Camping at Lake Powell

Crazy formations and Jimmy's artsy photo

First view of Lake Powell!

Campsite set up at Hite Campground

View from "cell phone hill"

Jimmy's friend while I am on "cell phone hill".

Our camper looks so lonely!

Our friend Kent after he and Jimmy hiked around the lake.

We made plans to meet our friends at a campgound on Lake Powell in Utah. But we couldn't exactly find the campground, so drove on to another in the canyon area called Hite. After we got settled in, I asked the ranger about making a call on my cell phone. She sent me to Mile marker 51 where "some folks have some luck". Turns out I did have luck, after climbing to the top of the cliff. Anyway you can see from these pics that it is a vast open land, colorful and empty. My text finally got to Suzie and Kent and they did find us eventually.
